Gohring joins Snitily Carr as Art Director, Graphic Designer
Snitily Carr is pleased to announce the hire of Matthew Gohring as art director and graphic designer. Gohring comes to the agency following several years as a graphic designer for A to Z Printing, and a stint as a multimedia specialist at Nebraska Book Company. A native of Norfolk, Gohring moved to Lincoln to pursue an education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in fine and performing arts.According to Dave Snitily, president of Snitily Carr, Gohring’s commitment to his work stands out. “Matt clearly understands the nuances of the print and web industries, and his strong art and design background will be an asset to our clients.”
Away from the job, Gohring describes himself as an “avid beer brewer,” who also enjoys biking, music, fine art, and sports such as disc golf and bowling.

New Super Saver Campaign Headed to TV
Value hunters, pay attention: new Super Saver commercials are headed soon to a TV near you. Snitily Carr producers shot the new spots at Super Saver locations in Lincoln in early-March.
Owned and operated by B&R Stores, Inc., Super Saver has been committed to value since the first store opened and is proud to tell shoppers, “We Sell for Less.” The new ads convey the excitement shoppers feel when they find fresh produce and high-quality groceries at low prices.
Since the first store opened in 1984, Super Saver has grown to eight stores in Nebraska and Iowa.

Lincoln Industries launches New Snitily Carr-Designed Website
Celebrating its 60th year of business, Lincoln Industries launched a new website on Nov. 1 at the 2011 SEMA show, the premier automotive specialty products trade show. The new site, designed by Snitily Carr, showcases Lincoln Industries’ metal finishing and supply chain management expertise.A new, streamlined corporate landing page allows clients easy access to Lincoln Industries’ new divisions, Lincoln Chrome and Lincoln Performance Coatings.

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln Selects Snitily Carr to Help Promote Health Programs
Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln (PHL) has selected Snitily Carr as its new partner in promoting healthy lifestyles in the community. Established in 2010, PHL is a collaboration of many organizations and individuals working together to improve the health and well-being of Lincoln citizens. The organization’s primary goal is to reduce the percentage of obese children in the community to less than 15 percent by 2015.Snitily Carr will develop a comprehensive strategic marketing plan that includes marketing and public relations tactics to further PHL’s mission and goals. PHL is led by Dr. Bob Rauner, a physician specializing in family medicine and public health, and Linda Kern, a former teacher with 27 years of youth education experience, is PHL’s project coordinator.
“We are excited to work with PHL to help make Lincoln a healthier place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Dave Snitily, president of Snitily Carr.

Golf Nebraska Makes Headlines
The Golf Nebraska campaign included a multilevel public relations campaign designed to inform golfers within the Midwest region and beyond about the high-quality, high-value golfing experiences in Nebraska. The campaign included outreach to national and regional golf media outlets and social media initiatives.
Snitily Carr and the Nebraska Division of Travel and Tourism partnered with four golf clubs (Quarry Oaks, Iron Horse, Wild Horse, and Awarii Dunes) and local CVBs to host a writers’ tour for golf journalists. The tour led to feature articles on WorldGolf.com, which is a golf travel site under the umbrella of the Golf Channel. Midwest Golfing Magazine featured Kearney’s Awarii Dunes Golf Club on the cover of its Fall 2011 issue and included an extensive article about Nebraska golf. GolfTrips.com featured several articles about Nebraska golf courses and the Golf Nebraska campaign.
The Golf Nebraska campaign joined with the Nebraska PGA Section and Nebraska Golf Association to spread the word about the campaign through their newsletters and targeted campaign emails. Both organizations assisted with development of the Golf Nebraska blog.
Five bloggers contributed to GolfNebraskaBlog with posts about courses throughout the state. Bloggers included photos and videos, providing a rich source of content about the variety and value golfers can find in Nebraska. The blog features posts about 20 different courses, including the nine-hole Pelican Beach Golf Club in Hyannis, to the well-known Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg.
Another social media initiative, the GolfNebraska Facebook page, grew to nearly 200 followers in just a few months. The page includes posts about Nebraska courses and golf events, photos of some top courses, and links to articles about golf in Nebraska.

Snitily Carr is pleased to announce the hire of Alexis Abel as public relations counsel.
Abel comes to Snitily Carr following several years as communications specialist with the Cornhusker Chapter of the American Red Cross. A Nebraska native who’s lived in Kearney and Lincoln, she holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is pursuing a master’s degree in communications at UNL. Abel also earned a diploma in print and creative writing from Humber College in Toronto, Canada.According to Dave Snitily, president of Snitily Carr, Abel’s experience and education are assets in developing effective public relations strategies. “Alexis understands the evolving landscape of traditional and social media,” Snitily said. “She’s equipped to assess the best communications tactics for a variety of clients.”
Away from the job, Abel enjoys running and reading. She is involved with the Lincoln Young Professionals Group.

The newest member of Snitily Carr’s creative team, Swanson is from Sioux City, Iowa. She earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from UNL. Otero Joins Snitily Carr as Account Director
Snitily Carr announced today the hire of Melissa Otero to its account service team. In her new position as account director, she will be responsible for managing client relationships and the production of projects within the agency.A Lincoln native and graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Otero has a wealth of experience in marketing and advertising, including more than 10 years with the Advertising Council in Washington, D.C. There, she worked on a number of high-profile national campaigns, including the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk campaign and the Smokey Bear campaign, among others. In addition, Otero has worked on projects with leading organizations including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, AdoptUSKids and the Arthritis Foundation.
According to Dave Snitily, president of Snitily Carr, Otero’s skills and experience are exactly what is needed in the account director role.
“Melissa has great perspective on what it takes to service the needs of multiple clients while working on numerous projects simultaneously,” Snitily said. “She’s already proved herself to be adept at handling the challenges our account directors face on a regular basis.”

Snitily Carr Hires Cosaert and Rogers
Snitily Carr announced today the hiring of Nancy Cosaert to its media services team and Nathan Rogers to its Broadcast department.Cosaert brings more than a decade of experience to her position as a media planner and buyer at Snitily Carr. She most recently worked in the Concordia University NE Advancement office in Seward and also has experience as a senior media planner at Bailey Lauerman in Lincoln. A native of nearby Denton, Neb., Cosaert enjoys sprint car racing and golfing with her husband Kirk, exploring new places and watching her two young daughters play softball.
Rogers comes to Snitily Carr with a resume that includes an impressive collection of television production and creative services projects. Born in Nebraska and raised in Wyoming, Rogers studied mass media, multimedia and interactive Web design. His work has been recognized with two ABC Alpha awards, two awards from the Wyoming Association of Broadcasting and a Bronze Telly. A confessed tech geek, Rogers is also a fan of camping, boating and four-wheeling.
According to Dave Snitily, president of Snitily Carr, Cosaert and Rogers extend the company’s capabilities in their respective areas.

Leading Air Rifle Company Selects Snitily Carr to Launch Brand in U.S.
HatsanUSA, Inc. has chosen Snitily Carr to help launch its line of premium air rifles in the United States. Hatsan is a world leader in high-powered air rifles. Selling its products in more than 90 countries, the parent company, based in Turkey, plans to enter the U.S. market in the fall of 2011. Snitily Carr is currently working with HatsanUSA to develop brand messaging, package design, and a website. Golf Nebraska Campaign Urges Golfers to “Get Driving”
The Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Travel and Tourism Division has partnered with Snitily Carr to encourage golfers to visit Nebraska for a golfing getaway. Using the theme “Get Driving,” the Golf Nebraska campaign highlights the state’s top-ranked and affordable public and semiprivate golf courses. Television ads, targeted emails, public relations, and social media sites inform golfers about the challenging and scenic courses in Nebraska and invite them to visit GolfNE.org to request a free brochure. The strategic campaign also includes a research component to measure effectiveness at its conclusion. -
Norfolk Iron & Metal Selects Snitily Carr as Strategic Marketing Partner
Norfolk Iron & Metal, one of the nation’s largest providers of carbon steel, recently unveiled new marketing materials developed by Snitily Carr. The marketing collateral features custom photography, unique folder and brochure designs, and corporate stationery. Floyd Valley Hospital Names Snitily Carr Agency of Record
Floyd Valley Hospital of LeMars, Iowa, has selected Snitily Carr as its agency of record. The hospital is working with Snitily Carr to conduct market research, develop a strategic marketing plan, and launch a full-scale marketing campaign. The initial plan will include key strategic recommendations for targeting, branding, message development, public relations, and media. Upon completion of the plan, Snitily Carr will assist with the implementation of a number of marketing communications and public relations initiatives.

Snitily Carr Adds Scharf to Interactive Design Team
Snitily Carr announced today the hire of Stephanie Scharf to its interactive design team.Scharf assumes her new full-time position as a web designer in the Lincoln office after working for the agency as an intern and part-time designer over the past year. She is a December 2010 graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Snitily Carr Announces Hire of Matya and Harlow to Account Service, Media Services Roles
Snitily Carr announced today that it has hired Jim Matya as a director of account development and Amy Harlow as the company’s director of media services.With more than 30 years of experience helping companies develop and execute effective marketing communications plans, Matya will lead regional and national new business efforts. In this role, Matya will leverage his contacts and expertise in the agriculture, professional turf care and golf course management industries to expand the reach and impact of Snitily Carr’s marketing services.
Matya grew up in Cedar Rapids, Neb., and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Prior to joining the Snitily Carr team, he spent more than 16 years at Swanson Russell, where he held the title of vice president and account supervisor.
As the new director of media services, Harlow leads the Snitily Carr media department in addition to managing the media budgets of a number of top agency accounts. A recent transplant to Lincoln from the Kansas City area, she most recently was a senior broadcast buyer at Zenith Media. Harlow also spent a number of years working as a senior media planner and buyer for MMG Worldwide, where she developed specific expertise managing the media of a number of travel and tourism industry accounts. A native Iowan, Harlow is a graduate of Iowa State University.

Snitily Carr Becomes Agency of Record for Columbus Community Hospital
Snitily Carr is proud to announce our new partnership with Columbus Community Hospital—a healthcare facility serving Columbus, Nebraska, and the surrounding communities. We will be working with the organization to conduct extensive market research, develop a strategic marketing plan, and launch a full-scale marketing campaign by midyear 2010.The agency search process was extensive for Columbus Community Hospital; the staff hadn’t worked with an agency before and wanted to be sure they chose the right marketing partner. After completing the RFP, Snitily Carr was chosen as one of three agencies to present capabilities. From there, the hospital selected us as its new agency of record.

New Tourism Web Site & Travel Guide Roll Out
The Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Travel & Tourism Division is kicking off a new decade with the hot-off-the-presses 2010 Nebraska Travel Guide and a face lift for www.VisitNebraska.gov, both produced by Snitily Carr.“With the launch of our new advertising campaign, ‘Rediscover the Road Trip’, we’re excited to unveil this whole new look” said Christian Hornbaker, Travel and Tourism Division director. “The new site and the guide go hand-in-hand for travelers planning a Nebraska vacation in 2010.”
The Visit Nebraska Web site not only reflects the new “Rediscover the Road Trip” campaign, it also has lots of new features helpful for the traveler, including:
- A redesigned home page with simpler navigation and easy-to-use search capability
- A new, interactive header to help travelers choose their Nebraska adventure, watch videos and view a rotating gallery of images
- A new event finder feature, right up front, along with a calendar of events updated daily throughout the year
- A new virtual brochure rack loaded with information about attractions, events, recreation, places to stay and other destinations
- Links to the Division’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and iTunes pages
- In early 2010, the site will launch a BookDirect feature that will allow travelers to search for hotels and make reservations directly from the home page
The 2010 Nebraska Travel Guide is packed with 192 pages of must-do Nebraska activities. It’s got a new look this year, but many of the same highlights travelers appreciate: a special section highlighting Nebraska’s hunting and fishing opportunities (produced in tandem with the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission), two kids pages full of fun activities, an entertaining section full of wacky Nebraska facts, feature stories about the best things the state has to offer, updated helpful maps and a lodging section that makes bed and breakfasts, guest ranches and other niche lodging facilities easier to find.
For the second year in a row, the guide is printed on recycled paper.
